Growing the next generation of dancers
Philosophy
Approach to Teaching
My approach to dance education is all about building strong physical conditioning, precise musicality, and a reliable work ethic, starting from day one in the studio. For me, performance quality isn't something we just tack on at the very end of a rehearsal process; it's a practice we build into how we show up and move every single day. I want my students to feel supported, grounded, and ready to tap into their full potential.
In My Classes
What We Focus On
Showing up fully from the start
I encourage dancers to commit to the movement right away rather than just marking steps. Practicing full-out builds the genuine stamina, spatial awareness, and muscle memory needed to feel confident on stage.
Bringing intention early
We tap into emotional expression and dynamic intent early in the studio. When the feeling behind the movement becomes second nature, the technical execution follows naturally, leaving dancers free to truly shine in the theater.
Deeply listening to the music
I teach dancers how to break down and connect with musical structures. Developing that precise rhythmic timing allows them to really elevate the choreography and captivate whoever is watching.
Cultivating versatility and focus
My goal is to nurture adaptable, quick-studying artists who hold a deep respect for a choreographer’s technical vision while confidently holding space for their own artistic voice.
Where I Teach
San Francisco Youth Ballet
I have been a member of the faculty at San Francisco Youth Ballet since 2019. In 2022, I became head of the young children's program, where I guide our youngest dancers through their very first steps in ballet — helping them develop coordination, musicality, and a genuine excitement for the studio.
